Shelley Powers just let me know about a page of photos on the Johnson's Shut-Ins site. Maybe we will find out what is happening after all.

Oooo... the 'lazy river' is taking shape. I wonder when they lay the foundation for the inner tube shack?
I also don't see the feeder line to recirculate water back from the lower reservoir. And where is the water slide?
So these photos were posted on the JSI website after all the discussion on Black River News about what was happening at the Park.
Is this a coincidence?

There are some issues beyond the scope of the JSI restoration--assumptions which are being made for the future of the parks which follow a basic idea to not preserve the parks and natural Missouri, but turn them into manicured and engineered English garden style settings.
I do not believe we the people are able to do anything about this at this time. My suggestion would be to go through the Missouri Parks Assn. I don't agree with all the MPA does, but it is quite obvious there is a governmental agenda which ignores the motto on the state flag. Some are politicizing all parks in the 'if you build it, they will come' mode-- and it's a shame that JSI is catching the flak bigtime.
I'm praying 2008 comes soon.
