The Word

In case you don't take the time to read the comments that are posted to this blog, here is a comment that Ameren posted about the public comment process.

Ameren has confidence in the panel and its recommendations. However, because the intent of this process was to identify projects that would benefit the community, we felt it appropriate that the community should have the opportunity to comment before Ameren submits its final recommendation to FERC.

So take a look at the recommendations and if you have any comment get it in before March 12.

I'm technically not in the community, if one considers 'community' to be the immediate vicinity to the reservoir. I do plan on commenting, though. I do live in Missouri, and I guess that will have to be 'community' enough.

Since the "panel" could not decide what "near the plant" meant, and Ameren or FERC didn't want to define it, I think everyone should feel free to comment.

I pretty much trust the panel's
opinion with the exception of that of
Kevin Engler. Any Legislative ideas that he has had in the past has been incapitible with the wellbeing of the community. Let's throw the bum out on election day and elect someone that actually cares about people.

I think Lesterville School District could use more than a new roof and electrical work done. I don't know the needs of other schools, but education is key to helping a community. Computers, new books, high speed internet and much more are essential to learning today. It has been proven that kids feel better about themselves if their surroundings in the school and class room are maintained. If not, the kids feel like nobody cares enough about them to give them a decent school, then maybe they are not worth it, so why bother. The children are the future.
