News From Lesterville

Pam and I spent another 48 hours packing and cleaning up at the pottery. There was lots of evidence of high water as we drove down Peola Road. The stairs to the river from BRL are still damaged or missing. The entrance road to Twin Rivers was washed away and has not been fully rebuilt. I heard that a lot of the work that had been done at the Shut-Ins was damaged by the last flood and as I reported earlier the park may not reopen in June. There are a lot of construction workers living in the area, Lenny's lot was full after work. They are pouring concrete on top of Proffitt Mt. but I was not able to find our any specifics.

Good news, work on the new home for Laurie Mayes has started.

Lee, In your opinion, is the Black River more, or less turbid since all of the recent flooding. Just curious to see if all of this rain has been good at flushing out the river.

Hard to say, as usual the sand bars have changed. Think BRL has a smaller beach and maybe Wilderness is in better shape with water flow. I'm sure that a lot of the silt had to be pushed further south toward Clearwater Lake.
