Taum Sauk
In this article Ameren states that they "we cannot commit to rebuild Taum Sauk Reservoir until all issues with the state are resolved." If this is the case what are they doing on top of that mountain?

We are heading to BRL the week of the 4th. Despite the political nightmare how does the river look?
The river looks fine, as usual over the past few years we could use some more rain.
Blackmail pure and simple. And a total bluff.
Ameren will rebuild the reservoir if they think they can make money on it. If they don't think they can make money on it, then they won't.
What Nixon, the PSC and the EPA do to fine them or maybe even throw a few in jail has no effect on what will happen. Even if they get another $500 million in fines, that money has nothing to do with the money they will make going forward on the TS plant.
What are they doing on top of the mountain?
Talking out of both sides of their mouth as usual.
I'm glad the PSC rejected their extortionist rate hike request.
You don't have to have been elected to be a politician, and the people of Missouri are going to be presented with a fait accompli, and another reservoir atop Proffitt Mountain whether they want one or not.
I knew this as soon as I heard it wasn't going to cost AM-UE anything significant to rebuild the plant, which was prudently insured. I think the criminal charges/investigations have to do with the insurance payment, not with hanging anyone. I just hope their insurance on the new one goes up-- just like after you have a chargeable car wreck.
