Scrap Iron $$/Beautiful Ozarks

On my way to Farmington this morning I noticed a home that usually has a lot of old cars sitting around had been cleaned up. So when you start complaining about the high price of steel, iron, copper and other commodities, remember that the recent high price for scrap is going to have a good effect on the Ozarks.

Your comments crack me up!!! Your area is so naturally beautiful. Everytime we come down for a visit I wonder why no one cleans up all the junk cars, etc. from their yard. I especially like the homes with the huge pools, satellite dishes and about 6 junkers in their front yard. This would be a great time to cash in for those people!

I learned years ago that all those junk cars are like a saving account for the folks that have them around their property. I gave a ride to one of these neighbors one day and he noticed that I had a burned out headlight, so he said I should stop by his place and he was sure that there was a working light in one of those junkers.

How is the water looking now after the lower reservoir work? Planning a family camping/floating trip Aug 3rd and 4th, camping at Twin Rivers. Your site is very helpful to a new visitor to the Black River area.

Had some people comment today that they found the river just fine. The East Fork doesn't look any worse (and not any better) than it did last week. I don't understand the internal workings of the lower dam, so I'm not sure how they are letting the natural flow through without letting a lot of silt through at the same time. But the beach at BRl looked like Coney Island this afternoon.

Speaking of old junk cars. Have they ever removed the 1940ish Buick, Olds Riverscape along the river just down from the bridge?
These old cars have been marooned on that bank of the River since who knows when...Just wondering???? I'm sure you have noticed them there when floatin' down toward Riversedge.
