Shut-Ins

Here is a photo of the area where the superintendents home once stood. They have filled the basement with soil and mounded up the soil on the outside of the foundation. I've been told that a large boulder that washed down the mountain will be placed in the center of this area. While I was out at the Shut-Ins they were moving the trailers that are serving as offices for DNR, Ameren, and Mactec from their spot at the enterance to the Park to a new and larger work area to the east on Highway N. I could also see work that is being done on an area that will be open to walking where all the large rocks that came down off of Proffit Mountain were deposited.
